The world is filled with wisdom left behind by great figures of all times and places. From Buddhist teachings to Western philosophy, from the classics to modern insights, these are essentially “hints for making ourselves and our surroundings a little better. “My goal here is to absorb these insights while reflecting on how we can live happily and peacefully in the years to come.
Of course, it’s not as if I’ve discovered a grand solution to global problems or conducted specialized research. However, I hope that by learning even a small part of this wisdom, I can help make someone’s world just a little bit better. Happiness and peace are themes humanity has been pondering for thousands of years. So, most of what is said here has likely been said somewhere before. Even so, I believe there is value in re-telling these truths in my own words and “digesting” them for myself.
Today, we are surrounded by countless problems—from large-scale global crises to small worries at home. But these issues don’t exist in isolation. At their roots, they are all connected to one fundamental question: “How should we live as human beings?” I want to learn from those who came before us—about the ideals we should envision and the fair ethics necessary to achieve them.
That said, if things get too formal, it won’t last. After all, what we are doing here is the very act of living better every day. I want to keep my mind calm, use words that resonate with me, and avoid getting too intense. I hope to move forward with these reflections while staying as relaxed as possible.
